It's hard to believe that Fathers Day is just around the corner. My own father passed away when I was 22 from a massive heart attack at the age of 49 so I often wonder what he would have been like today...and just how much he would have enjoyed the technology that we have today....So...I started thinking of some of the things I remembered about my dad....
- playing board games with my dad and my sisters
-listening to "Lassie" on the radio
- listening to music on the radio
-going fishing with my dad and my sisters - we were only about 6 or 7 years old
-my dad baking
-my dad always helping my mom around the house
-my dad ironing clothes
-my dad dancing with my mom
-my dad playing cards with friends and family
-my dad singing in church
-my dad sharing our Christmas turkey with his friend (cutting a frozen one in half) LOL!
-my dad playing the harmonica at Christmas
-my dad trying to teach us to play piano
-my dad eating and praising us for our cooking - with three girls all growing up I am sure some of those meals weren't the greatest! LOL!
-the love my dad had for his family - the family ALWAYS came first.....
So, this Fathers Day take the time to reflect on some the things you remember about your dad and give him an extra hug. I sure wish I could hug my dad.....
