Saturday - Finally!

Well it's been a long week I tell ya! Workwise that is.....It was busy as usual but the days just seemed to drag on and on.  Finally here we are into Saturday!  I'm off to a friends house for a luncheon with the ladies that come over for my workshops, then off to another ladies house to pick up some swaps we entered.  We had our demo meeting at her house and "skyped" the meeting with our upline in Alberta!!  And we got to meet the other demos as well!  How cool is that?  Technology!  Amazing!!!! We bought a new  2011 Sante Fe Hyundai SUV which I just love!  It has all the bells and whistles and I swear the next car we buy will drive itself.  We figured our old vehicle which was 9 years old was at a good age for a trade in so off we went.  Our old SUV was a 2002 Santa Fe which I loved driving as well.  With me being a full figured gal these SUV's have lots of room so you don't feel crowded against the passenger and the seats are nice and big to accomodate our big butts!! LOL!  Anyway, here's a card I made that I hope you enjoy.  It's not a SU image though I promise I will post one soon.  I just love this little girl.  She's so cute.  Have a fabulous weekend of good health and good friends....

 

Make your own fun flock!

I saw someone crate their own homemade flock and thought what a great idea it was.  I took a couple of small squares of SU Lucky Limemade and SU Wild Wasabi and rolled it into a tube and then grated it on a cheese grater! Instant flocking and in whatever color you want!!  So then I thought I would make a card using the reflection technique with the Oak tree stamp for SU a Tree for all seasons.  Basically you just stamp your main image and then stamp off the stamp and turn your paper upside down and stamp the image again so it looks like it does when you look in water.  I just grabbed some "sunset" type colors SU of course and then just sponged around and through the trees a little.  Then I put some glue on some branches of the tree and put the flocking on it.  What do you think?

 
The paper I used is SU Crumb cake and SU Soft Suede. The colors for the sunset are SU Daffodil Delight, SU Pool Party, SU Groovy Guava, SU Tangerine Tango and SU Marigold Morning.  I used SU Early Espresso for the tree .  The punch is also SU and also the word "Heartfelt" which is from the stamp set SU Fabulous Phrases

I am so in love with making flowers I think I'm addicted - lol!  Here is a card I made with some of the flowers I've been making.

Since my father has passed I thought I would instead make this a birthday card  instead of a fathers day card. What do you think?

Ink: SU Early Espresso, SU Soft Suede, SU Summer Sun

Cut out the yellow tie and popped it up on Su dimensionals

As you get to know me you may notice that I am sooooo in love with flowers! I love flowers of all kinds and for some reason am drawn to them.  We have had a cold rainy spring this year so I thought maybe I would plant some flowers in a pot with a little note for someone special!  The intructions for this type of card can be found at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/flowerpotpocket/

The supplies I used are mostly retired SU and misc papers that I had laying around.  It is a great way to use up some scraps.  What do you think?
