Resigning from Stampin'Up!

I've decided to resign from Stampin'Up as there will be some changes in my life going forward. My daughter was told by fertility doctors that she would not be able to have children and lo and behold she is expecting twin boys in the next couple of months. No fertility drugs or anything.  Just the Lord working behind the scenes in his mysterious way.  We are all very excited and I know she will need some extra help so I will be giving up SU to become a grandma!!

I will never fully give up my stamping or scrapbooking and will be keeping my blog going with baby pics and all sorts or personal type goodies so if you are interested stay tuned. I will continue to cards and scrapbook pages (two of everything! lol!)  Hugs......

Birthday cards

My inspiration for the white card came from one I saw on SCS - thank you whoever you are.  I really must be more diligent in writing down who to give credit to.  I tweaked it a bit using the dies that I had so there are some elements that are not copied.  The other card is a retired SU set called "Extreme Skateboarding".  I love that image and it was perfect on a card for my grand daughter who is turning 12. I used the new style of classic ink pad "Gumball Green" from SU and I must say I am absolutely in love with the new pads.  I will definitely be selling my old ones and buying the new ones.  The coverage on the stamps is totally awesome!

Paper toile cards

I'm not sure what this method of card making is called.  It is like paper toile where you put layers and layers of different parts of the picture on top of each other to build up a 3D effect.  These are real pretty in real life.

SU Concord Crush - retired

I've always loved the richness of SU Concord Crush and was disappointed when they retired it.  Here's  a card I made for my friend Kellys 50th birthday..

Made the little flowers, painted them a bit with Twinkling H2o's and glued little gold beads in the centers with SU Crystal Effects

Coming Soon: Stampin'Up! New Firm Foam Classid Stampin' Pads

Stampin'Up announced that they would be updating their Classic Stampin' Pads with a new Firm Foam design. The only thing changing is the pad itself.  The inkpad case looks the same and will have the same functionality as it currently does.  You will notice a few changes which are outlined below:

- The new pads will have better ink coverage for your stamps

- Light-tap stamping products flawless images

- Pad stays juicier for longer resulting in better ink pad longevity

Comes with color name labels that you can add to the side of the pad for easy identification.

**Please note:Five ink colors have undergone a formula change to improve functionality and color stability with the new foam pads.  You will not be able to use the existing ink refills on these five new pads only as the ink has been reformulated.  The colors are:  Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise and Perfect Plum.  

These will be available June 1st when the new catalog begins.

Busy, busy, busy....

It's been awhile since I've posted.  I've been very busy with work, and have rediscovered how much I enjoy reading on my IPad.  However here's a few cards I've made recently....

Sunday mornng get together at Maggies....

Every third Sunday a few of us get together at our friend Maggies house for a shoebox swap and some yummy breakfast treats.. here are the cards we made.... This is my card....inspired by one I saw on SCS...

This is Lyndas tag....beautiful isn't it.  Perfect to hang on a gift for someone special.....

Maggies card .....this would be beautiful in white too maybe as a wedding card......lovely....

Melissas card.....Don't you just love the DSP with the pink pearl touch.  Beautiful!
